Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about bootcamp days, sign-in, practice environments and what to bring.
About bootcamps
What is a bootcamp?
A hands-on workshop day, led by an instructor, where you build working automations and AI-assisted workflows against practice systems. It's mostly building, with short explanations along the way.
How long is a bootcamp?
Most run as a single day of about five hours, including breaks. Some events split the same content across two half days. Your organizer will confirm the times.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. Build guides take you through every step, and the first build is designed for people who have never automated anything. Experienced builders get harder challenge cards in open build time.
How many people are in a session?
It depends on the event. Groups are kept small enough that an instructor or consultant can get to anyone who's stuck within a few minutes.
Are bootcamps in person or online?
Both happen. In-person sessions work best, because helping someone is easier when you can see their screen. Online sessions follow the same plan with breakout rooms for open build time.
Signing in and accounts
Where do my sign-in details come from?
Your session organizer sends them before the day. You can't create an account on this site yourself.
I've lost my details or they don't work.
Ask your organizer or instructor. They can reissue your details, on the day if needed. For security, we can't reset passwords from the sign-in page.
How long does my account last?
Attendee accounts are issued for one event and expire after it, along with the practice environment. Copy anything you want to keep before the end of the day.
Who can use the consultant sign-in?
Instructors and the consultants who prepare practice environments. Consultant access is by invitation only.
Practice environments and data
What is a practice environment?
A set of sandbox applications prepared for your event, with forms, records, queues and documents to automate. It behaves like the systems people use at work, without being connected to any of them.
Is any of the data real?
No. Every name, record and document in a practice environment is fictional sample data made up for practice.
Can I bring my own data?
Please don't. Practice environments are for learning, and real personal, customer or confidential data doesn't belong in them. Bring your ideas instead, and use the sample data to try them out.
What if I break something?
That's part of learning. Environments can be reset to their starting point, so ask an instructor or consultant and you'll be back on track quickly.
On the day
What do I need to bring?
A charged laptop with its charger and a current version of a modern browser. Nothing needs installing.
My work laptop blocks some websites. Will that be a problem?
It might. Try signing in a few days before the event. If the site is blocked, ask your organizer, who can arrange access or a spare laptop.
Can I ask for an accessibility adjustment?
Yes, please do. Tell your organizer ahead of time what would help, such as larger text, extra time, a quieter seat or materials in advance.
Who do I contact with a question?
Your session organizer or instructor. They know your event and can help fastest.
